I purchased this product to create audio books from my own works. From 1991-2007 I was a musician and have recorded on Fostex, Yamaha, Korg & Tascam machines in cassette tape, mini-disc, HDD & SD card formats. It's safe to say I've pretty much been there/done that with close to everything in music.
The Tascam DP-008 is a fantastic machine, not just for it's price and compactness (it's REALLY tiny), but for the CD quality sound and the whole package. It's not quite as intuitive as other machines I've worked with, I had to actually break down and read how to record, but once you do that, it's pretty cool to have something so small be so effective. The built in reverb sounds pretty nice too.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that I had to read the instructions. That may sound stupid, but as someone who's recorded on them all, I thought it a bit over complicated a process to record with this otherwise brilliant machine. For those who are new to...Read more
