I've had this Onkyo model for about a year now and I deliberately waited this long to do a review as I had heard that for some buyers, it took a few months for things to go awry and so I wanted to be sure I thoroughly "studied" mine before I gave my opinion. As it's been some time now and I have played literally hundreds of cds on this thing, I have to say that I am very pleased with its performance. My version has an on/off switch as well as a standby mode and so I'm satisfied that I don't waste electricity if I don't want to stay on standby mode.

Although there isn't a headphone jack, I'm not too bothered as I have a headphone jack on the TEAC amplifier that I connected this thing to and also as I rarely listen to headphones except when I'm on the go (through my MP3 player), I wasn't too concerned about this absent feature unlike others who have complained about it.
