Not much of a life expectancy.,

We got this for use in our daughter's room to play music while she sleeps at night. I figured it would be a nice, small boombox that could last for a few years, and it's portable. And hey, the price wasn't too bad!
We've officially been through FOUR of these in two years. The last one we got barely lasted for five months. Even when treated with the most delicate care, they seem to give out with no apparent reason. Do yourself a favor and just pay a little bit more for a better box. It's much cheaper in the end than plopping down $20-30 every six months when this thing dies.

No headphone jack, poor sound quality,

I have this same boombox but mine is more black (model MP8806)
I bought this from Walmart and I was looking for an affordable boombox to listen to some audio book cds while working. Well this was affordable but the quality is not good.
For one thing there is no headphone jack for my daughter to listen to her disney cds quietly, I thought all boomboxes had headphone jacks?? I had one on my old one 20 years ago!
The sound quality is very muffled and hollow sounding. NOT GOOD!
I would not recommended this. Keep looking for a better deal or just pay the extra money for one with a 5 star rating. That's why I'm on Amazon right now.

Has sat on a shelf for less than 6 months, never moved or carried around, used to play CDs, usually the same one over and over, now CDs not recognized at all. Radio plays fine, but cleaning CD, compressed air, NOTHING makes it recognize CDs. JUNK!
